Congratulations to the Zwergsumpfhuhn!
I am keeping my fingers crossed that the Zwergsumpfhuhn will stay a couple of days since I would like to get it on my Austrian list. Thus I would appreciate information on how to find the site. Yes, the map gives certain information but more specific guidance would be most appreciated. I get the impression that the site is quite big.
You may answer in German (I can read reasonably well but writing is difficult).

The place, where the Baillon's Crake was observed at Furtnerteich is a freshly mowed area in the main reedbed. To get to this place, take the way to the "Pater Blasius Hanf Forschungsstätte". Before reaching the Pater Blasius Hanf Forschungsstätte" there is a little pasture with sheep on the left side of the way. After this little pasture, walk over the meadow to the shore of the Furtnerteich and on the right- hand side you can see the freshly mowed area in the the reedbed. Because of the distance, you need a scope to be able to identify the rails.
I was there yesterday from 15.30- 19.45 together with Gitta Rossian, Wolfgang Trimmel (who were already there earlier), Heinz Kolland and Christian Zechner. During the time I was there (15.30- 19.45) we could not see the Baillon's Crake. Other nice birds in this area were two (male and juvenile) Little Bitterns, a pair of Water Rails with at least 4 young and a family of Great Reed Warblers.

Many thanks for excellent information. I will give it a try on Saturday and if I am not lucky with the crake I am anyway looking forward to continue exploring Austria (Little Bittern is also welcome on my Austrian list).

Wir- das Team am Furtnerteich- freuen uns über etwaige Beobachter, die uns besuchen .Wir bitten aber, sich kurz in der Station zu melden, bevor das Wegegebot nicht eingehalten wird.
Das Ausmähen des Zuflusses (auf dieser Fläche wurde das Zwergerl beobachtet) erfolgte im Zuge eines bestimmten Projektes. Bitte Beobachtungen auf dieser Fläche auch an uns weitergeben.
